Worlds 2026 tournament format and dates

Worlds 2026 begins with a four-team Play-In stage from 15 to 18 October at Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles. The Play-In is a double-elimination bracket of best-of-five series, and only the winner advances to the main event.

The Play-In winner joins the 15 directly qualified teams in the Swiss Stage (23–26 and 28–31 October) at the CUTX Event Center in Allen, Texas. Teams that reach 3 wins advance, while those that take 3 losses are eliminated. Non-decisive matches are best-of-one. Qualification and elimination matches are best-of-three.

The eight Swiss Stage qualifiers move into the Knockout Stage (single-elimination, best-of-five). The quarterfinals (3 to 6 November) and semifinals (7 to 8 November) are also played in Allen.

Finally, the Grand Final takes place on 14 November at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, the first Worlds final held at the venue.

As the MSI-winning region, the LCK's fourth seed (Dplus KIA) goes straight to the Swiss Stage, while the LPL's fourth seed (Invictus Gaming) starts in the Play-In alongside the third seeds from the LEC, LCS and LCP.
