How does Asian Total differ from other Totals (Over / Under) bets?

Asian Total is a special type of Totals bet. Unlike a standard total, it can be graded as half-win or half-loss in addition to the usual Win, Loss, or Push (stake returned).

A totals bet is simply a bet on the combined goals scored by both teams. How it can settle depends on whether the line is a whole number, a half number, or a quarter number.

Whole-number totals (e.g., over 1 or under 1)

With a whole-number line, a push is possible. If the match lands exactly on the line, your stake is returned.

Example: CONCACAF Gold Cup, Honduras vs French Guiana (Over 1 or Under 1)

Over 1:

Total goals

Grade

2 or more

Win

Exactly 1

Push (stake returned)

0

Loss

Under 1:

Total goals

Grade

2 or more

Loss

Exactly 1

Push (stake returned)

0

Win

Half-number totals (e.g., over 2.5 or under 2.5)

Adding a half number removes the possibility of a push. There's always a clear win or loss.

Example: Premier League, Everton FC vs Stoke City FC (Over 2.5 or Under 2.5)

Over 2.5:

Total goals

Grade

3 or more

Win

2 or fewer

Loss

Under 2.5:

Total goals

Grade

3 or more

Loss

2 or fewer

Win

Quarter-number totals (e.g., over 2.25)

Only the Asian Total can use a quarter number (e.g., 0.25, 0.75, 1.25, 1.75, and so on).

Here your stake is split evenly across the two nearest lines. This opens up four possible outcomes: Win, Loss, Half-Win, and Half-Loss.

Example: UEFA Champions League, FK Spartaks Jūrmala vs FC Astana (Over 2.25 or Under 2.25)

Over 2.25 (half your stake on Over 2, half on Over 2.5)

Total goals

Grade

3 or more

Win

Exactly 2

Half-Loss (the Over 2 half pushes, the Over 2.5 half loses)

1 or 0

Loss

Under 2.25 (half your stake on Under 2, half on Under 2.5)

Total goals

Grade

3 or more

Loss

Exactly 2

Half-Win (the Under 2 half pushes, the Under 2.5 half wins)

1 or 0

Win
