This must be one of the most eagerly-awaited cards of the year for neutrals and UFC fans alike. So our betting guide to UFC 229 can't ignore the biggest draw. The main event is a mouth-watering clash of the unbeaten Nurmagomedov against the "Notorious" Conor McGregor. No one can deny that UFC and MMA has enjoyed a higher profile thanks to the Irishman's theatrics. But his arrogance has looked misplaced recently, in the words of Marvin Hagler, "It's tough to get out of bed in the morning to do roadwork when you're wearing silk pyjamas". McGregor faces an undefeated opponent in Khabib Nurmadomedov who has dispatched his opponents in clinical fashion. Financially, there's only one fighter that will gain anything of note from the main event of UFC 229 and we could witness a changing of the guard in the lightweight division. And that's not all. Place a bet on the total rounds (over or under) for the Nurmagomedov v McGregor fight and you'll receive free spins in our casino even if your bet loses. So without further ado, here's our rundown of the must-watch fights.
On October 6th, 2018 lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov will finally go to war with rival Conor McGregor in this highly anticipated clash at UFC 229. The undefeated Russian holds a 26-0 record with 16 stoppages, the longest current win streak in the UFC. The explosive build up to this main event started when the UFC lightweight belt was stripped from McGregor and awarded to Khabib after defeating Max Holloway at UFC 223. McGregor thrives on adversity but will his time away from the ring count against him? If you think the fight winner is too tight to call, remember our free spins giveaway is valid for any bet on total rounds.
The co-main event on the UFC 229 card features Tony Ferguson take on Anthony Pettis in the 155-pound division. Ferguson is on a 10 fight win streak, but returns to the octagon after a year-long layoff due to surgery on his damaged knee - he was expected to fight Khabib for the undisputed belt at UFC 223 - and Anthony Pettis comes off a Round Two submission against Michael Chiesa at UFC 226 in July. We should see fireworks in their fight in UFC 229.

This All-American matchup sees Ovince Saint Preux (22-11-0) face undefeated Dominick Reyes (9-0-0) on October 6 at UFC 229 in Las Vegas. At 35, OSP is looking to gain some traction at 205 pounds after a first-round submission of Tyson Pedro back in June following a loss to LLir Latifi. On the other hand, Reyes could catapult himself in the Light Heavyweight rankings with another dominant performance in the UFC.
In the heavyweight division, this bout sees two former Bellator MMA heavyweight champions matched up as Derrick Lewis (11-3) takes on Alexander Volkov. Lewis is coming off an impressive victory against Francis Ngannou that elevated him to the number two contender of the division. At 4-0, the Russian is undefeated in the UFC and is looking to work his way up the rankings, accepting Lewis’ call to come to the USA.
A strawweight bout between Michelle Waterson and Felice Herrig has been announced for UFC 229. Herrig attempts to reboot her standing in the division after a four-fight winning streak was snapped in April by onetime title challenger Karolina Kowalkiewicz. Waterson hopes to build on a recent win over Cortney Casey, which put her back in the win column after a pair of losses.
